Inserting a picture from Media library or next Generation Gallery.using wordpress/admin.

 

Imagine this scenario.

Several Months ago there was a news item  or page  that included  a photo that had been downloaded from your PC.
You would like to use that photo again but discover that the news item/page has since  been deleted and also you had not kept a copy of the photo on your PC.
Do not despair the photo that you want to use  is probably stored in the Media library.

How to retrieve it./insert it into your Page or News item.

1/ Go to Upload/Insert and click the square icon/Add an image.
You will now be see a page saying add files from your computer.
Across the top you will see ( URL / Media library./Next generation Library) the next step is to click  on Media Library.
You will now see about ten of the last images that have been downloaded to your home page and on the top right the usual  boxes  to click to see the next 10 photo’s  and so on.
They are not very large photo’s so take your time looking.
2/When you find the photo click the word show.
You will now have the  normal add an image page were you choose the size etc.
Thumb nail or medium  are probably the best to choose.
When you are ready click insert into post.

Now check your page/post and if  you are happy click update.
And next  view page

Retrieveing from a gallery.
To  retrieve a photo from a gallery click the arrow next to the blank letterbox and choose your gallery from the drop down menu.
Next find the photo that you require and follow the instructions from paragraph No 2
