Margrove Park Village News
Another road accident occured at the junction of Margrove Rd and the A171 this morning the 5th of April 2010.

We Wonder how many more accidents will need to take place at this dangerous junction before Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council manage to get their heads out of the sand and install the traffic lights
that we have all been asking for for many years.
Road Safety Meeting 20th April
Borough Councillors Mary Langigan, Dave Williams, Carole Jeffries,& Nigel Hill R & C Highways Engineer and Parish Councillors Kath Nolan, Clive Maidens, Jean Maidens, Marian Wheeler and Laura Wheatley attended a site meeting at A171 junction.
All agreed pressure Pad Traffic lights are required. Nigel Hill to check with Highway regulations and will contact us ASAP. The junction has been noted as a BLACK SPOT and action is urgently required.
The Village Association Meetings now take place on the Last Wednesday of the Month at 7pm. in the Village Hall.
Village weekly raffle Cancelled until further notice.
Back Street Works Report 1st of April 2010
Renovation work on the back street behind houses 41 to 52 is now finished.
6th August 2010.
Back Streets Update.
We understand that after a meeting by Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council on or about the 4th of August 2010 it was agreed that the second phase of the back street improvements would still be included in this years budget and will be carried out providing there are no more Government cut backs.

New Street Lights 1st of April 2010
New Street lights have been installed and are working well.
Extended Car Parks are now complete 27th February 2010
Work on the Extended Car Parks was held up for several weeks due to the severe weather. The work is now almost complete and general tidying up has begun.
We thank the Borough Council for doing a really good job.
Northumbria in Bloom 2010
The Village has been entered into the Northumbria in Bloom competition for the year 2010 and resident’s gardens will be looked at once again. Lockwood Parish Council have paid the entrance fee, and also made a Donation.
It is hoped that there will be some volunteers to help with the work required to bring the Village green up to a good standard. (It is already in reasonable shape so improvements should not prove too difficult to achieve.)

Although the weather has just started to improve several Village residents made a start on the flower beds and seating areas two weeks ago and the border in front of the hall has been cleaned up.

The Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council Area committee, have approved funds for Northumbria in Bloom
Saturday 15th of May 2010.
Enthusiasm for the Northumbria in Bloom Competition seems to have wilted at the moment.

We have had a grant approved for two new seats for the village green.
It is intended to site them in the area of the village green in front of house Nos 30/31 and house Nos 78/79
