NEWS LETTER Date 25th May 2010

The first part of the Judging  has now  been Completed. MANY THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE ALREADY CONTRIBUTED TOWARDS THE PURCHASE OF PLANTS FOR THE VILLAGE AND THOSE THAT HAVE PUT IN THE HARD WORK DIGGING THE FLOWER BEDS.

SUMMER FETE
I HAVE BEEN ASKED BY SEVERAL RESIDENTS IF A VILLAGE FETE IS POSSIBLE THIS SUMMER, THE VILLAGE USED TO HAVE ONE EVERY YEAR. I HAVE MADE SOME ENQUIRIEIS AND FUNDING MAY BE AVAILABLE TO ORGANISE A GREAT DAY FOR EVERY ONE. THIS WILL ONLY BE POSSIBLE WITH HELP FROM RESIDENTS

On the 28th of August 2010 the Police Helicopter will be landing on the village green  giving  people who are interested the chance to  inspect the machine  at close quarters. Due to the fact that it is always on call  the exact time of the visit cannot be given.

I now walk around the Village at least once a Month in the company of the Police. Anyone is welcome  stop us and ask Questions or voice their concerns etc.
We are easy to spot.

I will also be joining the Council protection Officers from time to time when they do there rounds. They also would help with any questions or concerns you may have.

 Dear David,
Thank you for letting me know your feelings over speeding cars on the road that passes Margrove Park village, and your view that only a 30 mph speed limit will prove to be effective.
I support this myself as it seems that cars are ignoring the existing signs, and on that basis I have written to Cllr Mary Lanigan at Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and asking for review of the existing speed limit in this location.

I attach a copy of my letter which is, I hope, self-explanatory.
I hope this is helpful for you and the villagers.
Yours sincerely,
Tom Blenkinsop M.P.

Dear Mary,
REFERENCE ON HIGHWAY SPEEDING MATTERS – CLLR DAVID WlLLlAMSMARGROVEPARK
I have been contacted by Cllr Williams over speeding issues in the area of Margrove Park and with which I have some sympathy.
As you know, following the past fatality in which a young boy was killed, new signage has been erected and a flashing speed indicator.
However, despite this, the problem persists and Cllr Williams and local residents feel that only the imposition of a new 30 mph limit on that stretch of highway will suffice.
I agree with this, and would hope that such a limit can be applied.
I look forward to hearing from you on this matter.
Yours sincerely,
Tom Blenkinsop M.P.

Don’t get caught out by this Company.
Avoid getting caught by the  More than Mobility Company.
West Yorkshire Trading Standards have had major problems with the people
 trading under these names.
  ”More than Mobility”
 ”Made to Measure”
They have been in our area but sell country wide.  They target elderly
people and especially those with mental disabilities.  They sell beds
 typically at £3000.
They can be in the home for up to 6 hours, take people to banks to withdraw
money, and refuse to honour cancellation rights.  They either cold call at
the door, or ring for an appointment.

The people behind this are also thought to be recontacting  people using
another name offering very expensive linen for the beds.
If you come across a member of this company at your door my advice is ask
them to leave if they refuse then call the police immediately on 326326.
If you know anything about this company and have had dealings with them in
the past then phone the police on 326326
