In reply to Margaret Walkers letter, I would like to pass on this small amount of information. The Walkers I think lived at the top house of "the Barracks", the top row. I lived at No.41, the bottom house of the Barracks. I remember Derek very well and also Marina, who was very pretty. Derek was a smashing kid, he always seemed so clever to us kids just a year or so younger. His nickname was "Blueshirt". This wa because he always wore a blue shirt. He was aregular at Jimmt Woottons shop with the rest of us such as Albert Calvert, Jeff and Ted Jones, Alan Smith, Les Jackson and Derek Easton, Terry Teale, I could go on. You will see Marina on the old Magra school photos. Easily picked out as the prettiest face on display.

sorry my dads name is derek walker, his parents were Olive and John,he was born in 1934. He would have left school at about 14 yrs and worked in the co-op in skelton green. He was drafted into national service and returned home and married my mum Jean Jones and has lived in Loftus ever since. He is now 75 and was an avid pigeon fancier in the 1960's onwards and was great friends with Brian Gray in the 60's. My nephew found photo's of him with his sister Marina but we (being old) cannot find them. He would dearly love copies of them. Thanks in anticipation, Margaret.
